Howdy! Thought I'd show off my new Ruger Flattop 45Colt/ACP Convertible. This pic is what I snapped quick when I got it home. It now sports a SBH hammer, just like the rest of my Blackhawks.
One question, this is a Lipsey special, and I'm trying to figure out when it was made. Looked on the Ruger site at their serial numbers, and this one is not in their registry. How do I find out where it was made?
This is my 1st Flattop, doubt it'll be my last, 5th Blackhawk.

Nice new gun there. Kudos. To get an actual shipped date,, you'll have to spend the $10 for a Ruger letter. Those are too new to be in our RENE records.

Look at the date on the fired cartridge envelope. That will be real close to when it was made. I have one in each barrel length, very fine revolvers. Bob!! :D

Nice! Favorite cartridge, favorite gun, favorite barrel length.... Perfect :) . Enjoy mine.

Yeah, I am sure there will more in your collection ;) . I've now got a set. .357, .44 Spec, .45 Colt all flattops, all 5 1/2", all blued. Doesn't get any better. Also the .44Mag 50th as well, but it is sporting the 6 1/2" barrel.

Wow what an awesome gun! I had a NM Blackhawk 45 convertible but would love to get a flattop one of these days.

Sorry to hear you saw the need to change the hammer. I prefer my guns unaltered but, it is your gun, your new one looks good as is to me.
Steve

I was going to mention the fired case envelope,,,but didn't. Ruger has stopped sending those I believe, and I didn't see one in the pic. It's a good way to get real close to production date,,, if you have the fired case info.

Very nice and the SBH makes it.
I believe all SAs maybe all revolvers are made in Prescott, AZ. They're new website doesn't have that info any longer and this is the only contact info page I could find: http://beta.ruger.com/service/productHistory.html

I swapped hammers (and grip frame) with my Montado;

Colt ejector rod is another real ergonomic improvement after several cylinders full of fired cases at the range:
