Years ago, many of you followed my posts about my mother's health issues. Mom dealt with issue after issue, but kept going for nearly ten years.

A couple of weeks ago while transferring from her wheelchair, mom put her leg wrong and hurt her right knee. When taken to the hospital, it was determined that nothing was broken in her knee. What was found is that mom had also broken her left hip.

My 97 year old mom survived the surgery, but after a few days, mom stopped eating and drinking. Mom was again brought home palliative. Early this a.m., mom found peace and passed away in her sleep. My brother is a basket case. I'm very sad, but mom called the shots. It was time for her to end her battle. I love mom and will miss her forever. Hopefully she has joined my dad and my sister. With luck, my dogs will be with them too.

Thanks to all who supported me before and those who will support me now. I've posted this after a long absence, because, I owe that to my friends.

Thanks to all.

Hi,

I'm sorry she had to go, Wheelgunner, but I hope she'll remain with you in enough spiritual ways they'll ease the pain. 97's a pretty good run: she must have been a tough one! Prayers come from SoCal for all your family.

My prayers for you, your brother and your Mother. My Near North Woods knows your loss and I understand the loss of your Mother. We have to deal with the fact that our lives without are never ever the same. Splitz

Her pain and suffering are over and she is in Better Hands. And don't feel you have to grieve alone.

You have my deepest condolences after the loss of your mother. May God bless you in your time of bereavement.

.

I hope that your and your family will accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your Mother.

I lost mine in 2001 from pancreatic cancer - she went peacefully only due to the morphine she received in hospice to relieve the pain.

Sorry for the loss of your Mother; Sometimes people reach the point where they feel that NOT fighting nature for a longer life is the best course. My Mother passed away from pneumonia which she would not fight against despite all the medications.

Thank you to all of my forum friends. I remember a number of you very well. You put up with me for so long, I just wanted to give you an update to let you know how long my brave mother fought for life.

Thanks to all!

I'm signing off again.

When my Mom passed away many years ago it was by far the worst day of my life. A tear comes to my eye every time I think of that day.
For those of you who are fortunate enough to still have your Mother, tell her how much you love her every day and how much you appreciate what she has done for you over the years...My deepest sympathy for your loss.

My sympathy for your loss, you and yours will be in my prayers. I really like the comment about the dogs, when it is time for me to go, I want to go where my dogs went.

Very similar to my Grandmother's final chapter. Years of minor to moderate health issues but couldn't handle the serious complications of a broken hip.
Sorry for your loss.

You have my condolences. Everyone should revere their mother. I sometimes envy others who have been able to love their mother for years. I lost both my father and mother in 1939 when I was just 9 years old. I still do remember them.
