I took my MKIII to the range today and shot WWB 36 grain HP'S. It does not like this ammo at all. I had a jam almost every mag. It was jamming into the feed ramp. Then when the bullet got scarred, it would not feed into the chamber. I was wondering if anyone else had problems with this ammo in their Ruger MK pistols.
 
In general, the MK series guns will normally digest most any ammo. That said, sometimes there is ammo that any gun can take a disliking to. I'd clean the gun & use a different ammo to see what happens.

And there are a few thing things you could do that will improve the stock set-up.

After firing a couple hundred rounds break down the pistol and polish the wear marks on the receiver bolt and the guide rod.
I also replaced the stock extractor with one from Volquartsen.

My MK III 22/45 eats anything now with only an occasional "Fail 2 Fire", which should be excepted now and then with .22 ammo.

And last, there is a wee bit of controversy as to whether or not the LCI (loaded Chamber Indicator) causes "Fail to Feed". Hence, I removed the little steel blade out of mine.

BOTTOM LINE ..... In my opinion, the Ruger Mark series of pistols are the best semi-auto .22 a man can own !!!
 
Thanks for the tips. I might try taking out the LCI blade. I'll also check out the VQ extractor. I agree about the Ruger MK series pistols but mine did create some doubts yesterday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Tom just bought a new 22/45 LITE. Feeding is problematic and it doesn't like the mags from an older MK3 22/45 at all. I think it's mostly a break-in issue. The only feeding issues I've had in well used MK(x) is with low powered, low noise ammo(which doesn't function semi-auto anyway).
 
Try some round-nosed 40 grainers and if those choke too, replace the extractor with one of the Exact Edge extractors from VQ.
