love it, its a colt, the only 1911 for me.

I like that it's a Colt, although the Springfield Armory is very nice, too...had both out on the range today....the Springfield is brand new and it's first 5 shots were not quite zeroed...but I knew immediately it is inherently quite a bit more accurate than my Government Model Series 80 in .45 ACP...
I also knew immediately that I liked it (no comments are necessary on my high-tech targets).
Once I dialed it in, it stayed there...
Surprisingly, this guy walked right across my path...very surprised to see them out this late in the year...
This is cool stuff, but nothing in my gun-related meanderings compares to the recent experience I had with Ruger customer service on reblueing my 200th year .45-70 No. 3. These folks did a job that cries out for photographic documentation of their superior after-market support, and I'll provide that this weekend.

The Springfield Armory is a 9mm and they call it their "Loaded" model. It's pretty nice. and it sure shoots well. I was not in the market for another handgun but I was in the shop when this one came in and the owner was entering it into their inventory. I took one look and knew I had to have it. My "holy grail" 9mm load for my Model 59 is a 125 gr RN over Unique, and this new 1911 handgun really likes it. I put 100 round rounds through it on this first day at the range and I had no failures to feed. I've never owned a Springfield Armory before this and I am quite happy with it.

Looks like a pistol you can enjoy.
Fired about 75 rounds in 10 minutes. This is my only 1911 currently but I would enjoy having a nice older Colt in the future.
