More Salad

My girl friend has been after me for months to eat more salad. Let's
face it (you married guys know) if you don't go along with the gals
on subjects like this, things seldom go well. SO . . . . I said that I
would eat more salad.

NOW, she's upset with my salads! :shock:

You need to melt some Velveeta all over that and crumble in some Beef Bacon. Add a little cream cheese, too. Two or three parsley sprigs on top and you've got the prize. Parsley is one of the world's healthiest foods, everyone knows that.

Having said that I like salad. But it has to be good stuff like whole-leaf spinach with feta cheese, olive oil and some little tomatos. Or tomato and cucumber salad with little bits of cheese in vinaigrette. Or avocado salad. But the regular stuff doesn't do it for me any longer. Lettuce doesn't do it for me. I eat carrots raw, along with - radishes! - with a bit of salt. Grab 10 radishes and just scarf 'em down. Your mileage will vary.

Here's a dangerous suggestion: There are some supermarkets that offer antipasto style salads with whole, marinated garlic cloves. Every once in a while I eat one of those and I absolutely love garlic, but I'm glad we can talk about it through TCP/IP instead of face-to-face. 8)

Around here that is served with a piece of water chestnut held on with a toothpick and it's called ramaki, not sure about the spelling,. When it's served I hope nobody else likes it because that means there is more for me. :D

Aint tried that Nixie; BUT it SOUNDS SUPER delicious to me !!!

They're awesome. It's an occasional taste but when you 'feel the pull' there's really nothing like 'em. I'll post my recipe and instructions later.
