big lake alaska
Here's a photo of Bill Pinnell in 1965 at Red Shurk Lake, Kodiak Island, where he found a hunter that was mauled by a Brown Bear. It seems the hunter got off a shot, but both died in the in counter. He was found the following spring. The hunter was not identified still to this day; unknown. Bill Pinnell is half of the world famous team of " Pinnell and Talifson" who came to Alaska in 1939. Alaska started scoring bear skulls in 1963. They hold more the half of the world records still to this day. The book, " Last of the Great Brown Bear Hunters" is about them two...Enjoy. Scott

Talk about dying with your boots on. I hope he died quick. Crazy about him never being identified. You'd think somebody would be looking for him.
