Last weekend Son and I went to a fly-In event put on by Fagan Fighters of Granite Falls Minnesota. Donald McPherson was to be the guest speaker at the event. The Fagans were very close to Mr. McPherson and restored a F6F Hellcat in his honor. A special remembrance and a missing man formation was put on in his honor.
Son and I had a great time seeing the outstanding WWII planes and the museum along with visiting with friends that flew in some of the warbirds.

The theme of the show was Victory at Sea and highlighted Navy and Marine WWII aircraft.

This is one of the full-size D Day displays that is really cool. It honors Mr. Fegen's Dad who was the first off of the landing craft in the first wave at Utah Beach. The sand is from Utah Beach.

In a compelling visual narrative, this exhibit showcases bronze sculptures of the 4th Infantry landing at Utah Beach on D-Day. Led by WWII 4th Infantryman, Raymond "Ray" Fagen, twelve men from the "Ivy" Division are depicted storming Utah Beach. The scene is complete with actual sand from Utah Beach in Normandy, France and is further enriched by a striking mural portraying the invasion.

Another cool display with a full-size cattle car used to transport POWs and Holocaust Victims.
Fagen Fighters WWII Museum's authentic German boxcar was manufactured in 1899 and was used on the German railroad until 1954. The boxcar was abandoned at an old railroad depot until put on display at a museum in Georgenthal, Germany.

A few more pictures of the Victory At Sea Event

Notice in the pictures there isn't a spec of trash anywhere. 6000-7000 people know how to keep an event clean.

A special tribute was given to Don M. McPherson, a WWII Pacific Ace in the Grumman Hellcat, who recently passed away at the age of 103. He was a close friend of Evan Fagen and the entire Fagen Family.
