I salute him for his effort and bravery BUT it's so sad that he and others were subjected to this sort of danger for so little gain.

And outstanding soldier.

I'm always in awe of anyone who receives the Medal of Honor.

I’m always amazed at the ones who are alive to receive it. We as Americans have a lot of brave men and women to be proud of.

I watched the presentation via our local news. He looked so nice in that WW II era uniform. Then he was shown wearing that stupid beret! The Green Berets may keep them so far as I'm, concerned, but those berets look so European!

As to the Medal of Honor, Gen. MacArthur is the only father/son duo to receive that honor.

Been a few win it twice. I remember Gen. Custer’s brother won it. But the one we remember didn’t.

It is interesting to note that Sergeant Major Payne is the first living member of Delta Force to receive the MOH. There have been other awards of the MOH to members of Delta, but all posthumously.

Sergeant Major Dan Daly, USMC, was awarded the MOH twice. There were far fewer decorations to choose from prior to the Great War, but it is still an impressive achievement!
