MK II Slabside

Each side of the bull barrel has been shaved or “slabbed”. The slabbed sides are listed as Target Competition (or just Competition) model.

As for price it all depends on condition and what one is willing to pay. For the Mark II, I’d say anywhere from 350 to 600ish I have seen NIB complete go higher for someone that really wants one and can’t wait. Theres a nice used one on gb that’s listed at 499 bin.

Did Ruger upgrade the trigger?

good info above and yes all the time never know what comes up or where, this past Sunday I was brought one of the 'stainless' slabsides at the show, and helped the family out, yes needed a bit of TLC after they took the 'wrong'?? type of scope off the gun , and I got it for $235, and a 'dealer 'offered me $350 it???? duh a no brainer and I did not have to put any "parts" or work into it, and the last nice one we sold about 2 months ago, for $550, so yes they are out there, and are easy to work on and parts available.....(y)(y)
....very accurate to boot......;)

What sets the "slabside" apart? What's the current going price?
There really isn't anything about the inherent accuracy of the slabside that set it apart. The real reason the mk2 slabside developed a reputation for superior accuracy was it was the first production mark pistol to be factory drilled and tapped. It shipped with a base and rings to add a scope without any needed modifications.

Other mk2 models started being factory d&t after the success of the slabside. By the time the mk3 was introduced, all models were d&t except for the Standard models. It took a few years of mk3 production before the Standard models were also being d&t.

Mk3 models all shipped with a rail except for the Standard models. These never did - even with newer production being d&t.

Mk4 models are all d&t, but none ship with a rail except for the "tactical" models. At least this is my understanding.
