Assuming that you want to actualy improve your rifle, as oppossed to simply dress it up to look cool, your best bet is to glass-bed the factory stock.
If your "new" stainless Mini-30 is indeed new, it's already in a plastic stock which can easily be lightly sanded and painted-over to achieve any color/pattern you wish. If it's one of the older ones with a wood stock and you're looking for something lighter, used (take off) factory plastic stocks are usualy available at a decent price on about any auction site that allows gun parts to be sold.
And BTW, wood stocks can be painted too. I've done a few in the past....and they are easier to bed.
