My mini30 has broken several scopes.I have an eotech that I would like to try on it but leery of it not handling the recoil.that eotech is to expensive to have broken.anyone know if they hold up on the 30's?
You shouldn't have any problems,as they are tested on .50 cal rifles.
I've had one for 2 yrs,and it has been on my BFR .45-70 handgun, a 870 Rem. shotgun, and currently on
a powerfull .25 cal springer air rifle.
Even spring piston airguns can put a real hurt on scopes, due to the back and forth type recoil when the spring releases and the piston slams forward.
Still working great! May put it on my new Mini 14 one day too.
My 30's have eaten a few scopes too. I have had an eotech forward mounted on one and through about 500 rounds it has been flawless. Holds zero and has not self destructed. The MOA dot works pretty good on Timber Tigers out to about 50 yards too. Good luck.

I'm surprised to hear this, as when I was deciding between a Springfield Scout and the Mini-30, the "much less recoil" was a factor in my decision (for the wife)... why would the Mini-30 "eat scopes" if the M1A doesn't? (or does it?)
I have a Bushnell Banner 1-3/4 - 5X on mine and haven't had a problem with it. Granted I only have shot maybe 5 boxes of 20 out of it but nevertheless everything is tip top.
