I am about to mount a new scope on my Mini-14 with the rings that came with the rifle, but can't seem to find a specific inch/pounds of torque to tighten the screws.
I called Ruger and they said "hand tight," whatever that means. The shop where I bought the Mini-14 said they tighten them "all the way" when they install a scope, but that doesn't sound right either.
I know you can get them too tight and possibly damage the scope, and too loose and the scope will be spinning in the rings, or worse. Is there a just-right number I can set on my torx driver and be reasonably sure I'm ok?
