I noticed yesterday while cleaning after our trip to the range a couple of things.

First the Gas Pipe ( Item #"8") where the end of the extractor goes in, seams to be loose. It kind of wiggles in the Bottom portion of the gas block (#5). Looks like it should be welded in there, but not sure by looking at the exploded view.

The second thing I noticed is the Buffer Bushing Cross Pin (#16) appears to be bent ever so slightly. Has anyone else experienced this, or is this normal? Thanks in advance.

the wiggle on the gas pipe is normal....

as for the bent pin.... kind of odd... not normal.... but I assume it still goes in and holds the rod in place... if it's a little hard to remove that might be a good thing... they tend to want to fall out if you turn the receiver sideways while re-assembling.

Thanks blume357, I watched Ruger's re-assembly video last night, and though hard to see, it appears that the gas piped even moved on him.

You are correct, that pin was hard to remove, matter of fact it would only come out one way. I was wondering if I put that bushing in upside down at one time. I'll just keep an eye on it and see if it get worse.

that's a pretty thick pin... kind of hard to bend the thing... I would think... I guess it's possible the rod coming back and such could bend it.. did you buy the rifle used?

Heck somebody could have even done it on purpose I'm thinking.

Nope, brand new, it does have about 1200 rounds through it.

This last trip to the range we only ran about 100 rounds in it, and nothing special, some cheapo 62 Brown Bear JHP.

We shot more of the 9's with the kids. Now we are not shy, we can blast through some rounds, and she doesn't get much of a rest between clips. But we didn't notice anything wrong with it, worked flawlessly as usual.
