I received a package in the mail the other day. Actually sort of a thick envelop, containing a package of Idahoan Instant Mashed potatoes. Hmmm, I thought, nice advertising.

Then came the explanation on the TV news. Memphis consumed more mashed potatoes than any other city in the United States. So, as an advertising deal, every household in Memphis received a package of these potatoes. Plus several thousand, maybe hundred thousand, sent to the local food bank!

Now that kind of advertising I can abide!

(I'm thinking of trying to get more Memphians to purchase Winchester 231 powder.)

I quit eating 'instant' food something like 40 years ago.

I remember freaking out a number of years ago when I went home and my parents were fixing 'instant' grits....
what low IQ'd yankee came up with that?

I'm sorry, life is too short to eat cheap food or buy cheap guns....

And I grew up on real mashed up taters.... that takes butter and milk.

I love those Idahoan Instant Mashed potatoes. They come in about 5-6 flavors and are simple and tastey for 1-2 persons.
These are ideal for camping. Easy to pack, easier to fix. Not as good as homemade. But, a hot food.

Of course! Almost anything tastes good when camping. I think it was instant pancakes for us when we were camping along the Allagash River in Maine. Got home, we wuz starving. No food in the house. Hey, we got instant pancake mix!

YUCK!!!! ;-)
