The early TV episodes with McClean Stevenson were great. They gave me a good attitude when I joined the Army.

When Alan Alda started directing, every episode had to have a lame political or social message.

We go back and forth on television streaming services. Right now we have Disney. Just for a few months because it’s l$20 per month. Yikes!

Anyway, they have MASH. All 11 seasons. I used to watch it back in the day. But now tonight I just watched the first episode of season 11 and now I’m halfway through the very last episode.

My daughter and I watch shows and talk about the actors. What they’ve been in, etc.

Most actors from MASH are now gone. Alan Alda and RIZZO and Radar and a few others are still around. But that’s about it.

They were all pretty hard on Frank!

M*A*S*H was one show we'd watch as a family growing up. Still watching along with Hogan's Heroes.

Actually,, there is also a model of a Huey hanging in "Henry's" office in an early episode as well. I can't recall which episode, but I'm always looking for it whatever they are in Henry's office.

I've visited the filming location for the show a few times. Slowly going away. Last time I was there was before Covid, had to look hard to find it.

My dad bought the entire series on VHS a few years back. 3 episodes per tape. I watched the entire series at least twice. After he passed it was sold in the estate sale. I still watch two reruns every night at 7pm on METV. My wife isn't interested but she knows it brings back my childhood memories of watching with my dad anytime it was on.

Obviously, you never watched the show. The cross dresser was straight. He wore dresses in an effort to get a section 8 discharge.

I though the huey was, too, but a but of study of its fleeting appearances, its a flying blood bottle, which could look like a huey. Dad was navy during that time, and between the stories he knew and the ones he heard and the stories i had read, the early years had a lot of vaguely recogniseable story plots. I first noticed this when i started casually watching the reruns (never saw an original) and iirc there
were 2 story elements from the book Chesty, which i thought was in was ww2, and asked dad about a few storyplot details, and he started watching too. The later the series got, the more snidely anti-war they got. They went from war can be a farce, to war is an evil fraud.
Hogans heroes was at least acknowledged as fantasy, warped...er...wrapped... around elements of reality. Most of those actors were legit war heroes, whether medalled or tattooed or exiled during the events they so delightfully spoofed. Not so with mash, a bunch of anti-2A posers.
Always fun to spot the old cars, trucks, guns, and o.o.p.a.s, whether mash or HoHe's. Chips was always hey, there's a (some car or other), and wow, they badly faked that prop or set...

Or, shatner, comes to mind; "it's, just, a tv show! Get, a life!"

I enjoyed the show, especially the later seasons, those were a little less “‘70s campy”. My dad was a Korea/Vietnam vet, and I later served multiple tours in country, including Camp Humphreys where the last MASH unit (43rd MASH) was located.
