Meal time.

Beautimous eats, my friend. If I lived near you, I'd for sure come by and chat while you cooked. (Of course, once I tucked in, you wouldn't hear a peep 'til the plate was empty! 😆)

Bob,, it makes my heart glad to see you still actually cook a meal. All too often,, after losing a spouse,, the surviving spouse doesn't seem to want to put in the effort to make a real meal. Too often it's frozen dinners, or just canned stuff they heat up. Kudos my friend.
And yes,, it is quite lonely to not have dinner conversation. Maybe occasionally invite a friend or family member over just for a causal meal.

That's for sure. I spent a lot of time eating alone while working out of town assignments.
Looking good Bob, keep it up.
Before to long you will be doing BBQ Cow and noooo coleslaw :) :) :) :)

When I cook for myself, I sometimes make double portions. So I can freeze one for another night. Kind of like making my own tv dinner.

I’m glad you are taking good care of yourself Bob.

Bob, I admire your ability to not only cook but to set a nice looking table.

I often joke that my bride of 50 years "had to get married" to which I get some gasps and then I say, yes we had to get married because I cannot cook or do a load of laundry!

Hope I don't regret this but what is in the green bowl for the anytime supper?
Looks like fried okra to me! Bob, that is the one thing I miss also. I will turn on "talk" radio while I eat, timed for times without commercials. I open a lot of cans, grill, toaster oven, and slow cooker. I got an air fryer, but have yet to put it into use. Breakfast foods are quick, easy and tasty!!!

Fried chicken gizzards, livers and hearts are all great. The fun thing with gizzards is you get some exercise. Chew until you get tired and swallow it down!
Maybe ....just maybe.... on day 17 of the Naked and Afraid TV show I'd think about it depending
on how many bugs I could find first!

I have slapped you a couple times for enforcing "rules" of etiquette and dress that are only opinions but your food pics are spot on and I am proud to know you through the internet.

I am retired and my wife is still employed so I make my own breakfast 4-5 days a week.
I alternate between oatmeal with fruit, pancakes with sausage patties or fried eggs, hash browns and sausage patties for breakfast. Sometimes a ham slice is substituted for the sausage. I do eat breakfast out once or twice a week depending on the weather and if I really want to go out in public. I do have a banana every morning with my vitamins and tea first thing in the morning. I typically don't eat breakfast until around 10:00AM.
I rarely eat lunch...simply generally not hungry until dinner which is usually around 6:00PM.

Wife typically makes dinner so I don't get involved in prepping or making that meal...only eating it.
