Just picked mine up today; the 4.75" bbl model. Cleaned it up and its ready to shoot tomorrow. It really seems solid and well made. The trigger is crisp. I'm really glad Ruger decided to keep this model in the lineup. It will be a nice change from the Mark IV Hunter when something shorter and lighter is in order. Does anyone else have one yet?

The Ruger Mark IV Standard is going to my next firearm. But I can't decide between the 4.75" or 6" barrel?

they both look nice, trying to decide myself which version when they show up in SS.

I mulled over the barrel lengths too. But since I have the Mark IV Hunter I went with the handier barrel length. If I did not have the Hunter I might have chosen the longer barrel. The shorter barrel balances so well.

I've run 12 magazines worth of ammo through my 4.75" Standard. Several failure to fire with Aguila copper coated and 2 Federal automatch. All rounds fired the 2nd time in the chamber. I don't think it's the pistol, everything else worked as advertised. More shooting is indicated with some WW ammo. Bob! :D

I fired a melange of rounds through my Mark IV Standard this morning at the range. I had one very old round that would not fire. Everything else, including all the very old rounds, flowed downrange right to the mark. Except when I missed the mark :) The natural balance that this model has always possessed, is still there, and perhaps a little better? I know my Mark IV Hunter has excellent balance in the hand for such a long barrel.

It is true that I never had problems with the reassembly of the older models, but it is also true that disassembly, cleaning and reassembly have never been so easy. I am in thrall.

Yes sir, there's no excuse now for running a dirty Mark IV. Maybe I'll get to shoot mine some more this weekend between mowing and bush hogging. Bob

Stopped in LGS today for some CCI Mini-Mag that was on sale. Looked at handgun counter and they had Ruger Mark IV Standard in both 4.75 & 6" barrel length. Both felt good and balanced well. But the 4.75" barrel was reaching out to me.

Price on both was $324 plus sales tax. Cheaper than GB. Is this a fair price? May go back tomorrow and pick one up. Prices seems very fair. Thx.

Just letting everybody know...there are a few 4010 serial numbered guns out there in both models, 4-3/4" or 6".
Ruger must have had at least a three month supply of 4010 numbered receivers in process before they did the MKIV recall.
Assuming before those guns left the factory they were retrofitted with the replacement recall components.

Very good prices compared to what I saw in CT.

What's the price in your neck of the woods? I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to pull trigger on my Mark IV Standard.

When they first came out the standard model was around $350 plus tax at one store. I will wait to pick up a slightly used model.

$324 is 10 percent over cost, so that's a deal. Plus they had both to examine. Go for it. Bob!!

Finally found time to stop back at local gun store and purchase Mark IV Standard w/4.75" barrel. They raised price $25 from week before. Said it was on sale then even though I don't recall anything saying sale. Oh well, my luck.

Seems like a well made pistol. Balances very well to my liking, with a nice natural feel. My only complaint is the trigger is horrible. Very long and creeps before breaking. Hopefully after shooting it some it will improve. Overall very happy with this new purchase. Pictures later this evening if all goes well.

I saw one of those at Scheels this weekend over in Kansas, but didn't get to hold it. I have the stainless Mark IV bull barrel Target, and wouldn't mind getting one of these in the black as a companion to it. I'm leaning toward the longer barrel, I just like how it looks.
