 Well, I got a Mark II apart, reassembled, and function checked... Other than launching the detent plunger from the safety, it worked. Not as good as I hoped, not as bad as I feared. A bit fiddly, but better than some...

Wanted to clean the grime from around the trigger, inspect the bolt, smooth any sharp edges, and see what kind of issues that might pop up installing a VQ sear and hammer bushing.

Also waiting on a Ranch Products extended mag release... After a bit of surfing, it didn't appear the titanium firing pins make any pistol a laser-beam, so I passed them up. Ditto on a aftermarket hammer....

Dog injured an ACL at the start of November, and it's something only time can heal. Surgery still takes time to heal as well... Though I suppose it doesn't bother me that much, since I twisted a knee but good the last week of September during Woodcock season... Barely any birds, flight didn't come down.... :(

I take it that you found that pesky little safety detent? I have a couple of those that found a new home on my shop floor...........somewhere.

Surprisingly, I found it after only two minutes on the floor sweeping up spent primers, bird shot, and dirt with my hands... I was expecting a shiny ball bearing, and when the dark plunger turned up, I grabbed it out of a sense of desperation... Much easier if you are expecting the detent to be prone to just dropping out... It didn't "shoot" out when I foolishly just pulled the hammer, bushing, and safety out... More of a sedate plop than anything...

Almost everything lost turns up eventually. It could be years though. I once dropped a battery cable spacer into the innards of my Harley Softail frame. Never saw it again until 10 years later when I was prepping the bike for sale. It wedged between the primary drive case and the engine block just out of sight until seen at the perfect angle. All I said was sum beeyotch, there it is!
