Why would a stainless Mark II with 10 inch bull barrel
and no magazine sell for $800?

A few weeks ago I had a KMK 10 Mark II go for $780.00 on Gunbroker. The guy was happier than all get out. Call him what you will, he now has one, and like the "wise guy" once said......................"it's only money, it ain't no arm or leg getting lost". :lol:

I have a 10 inch target Mark II on Gunbroker that ends later today and
it is almost $600. I am thinking that these early target guns had excellent
barrels and were very accurate. I do know, that the trigger is unbelievable...
crisp clean and light. I couldn't believe it. I bought the gun new and it has been
been in my safe for 31 years!

I have seen NIB ones bring $1000+. But there is nothing rare about KMK10 or MK10s. But they routinely bring big $$.

I have a MKII with the 10 inch barrel in stainless and for $800 I would probably sell it also.
I might even throw in a magazine.

The one thing about the 10" autos....there won't be any more.
Looks like they are going up in value just like the 10" flattops did.

well, well......I sold a blued one for $500 and a stainless one for $550 ( Akron show and then the Berea show) one had a box, with one mag, one had a case , two mags..............and the lady I sold them for was tickled and made money 8) :roll: :wink:

Money is cheap. Work a little and you get more.
Clean, American-made 25-year old MkII 10" Target pistols are where you find them.

Chet is right - most of Ruger's products are only a programming change away from another run (with today's quality issues) :roll: .
The 10" MkII guns are not in that category.

I can't say that the barrels were any better "quality wise", but I sure do feel that the extra 3-inches of twist, the bullet was engaged with, does help to stabilize the bullet better once it leaves the muzzle.
I've done some extensive testing of both my Ruger Mark II 10-inch pistols in both stainless steel and blued steel in this contraption, and these two pistols do indeed "out-group" the 6-7/8 barreled versions at 30 meters with a variety of .22 rimfire ammunition.
