Mark I Target boxes

I may be misreading Chad's reference guide, but I have a red, hinged box for serial number 12-16724. Chad's guide says earliest known red hinged box is for SN 12-28026. I don't have the pistol, just the box and paperwork. Also have 2 other pistol boxes with paper work. Mainly curious about the 12-16724 box. Any clarification or help? Thanks!

by chance do you have any of the same vintage, but for a T678 (200 th year gun) end labels??? we have one that the label fell off and is gone ??? got the box, papers,but no label ...anyone ???

That will be a hinged box that looks just like the two piece yellow target boxes....

I stumbled upon a MINT one once at an OGCA show for $20 complete with invoices and all paperwork....just missing the gun.....

I was so happy that when I shared my fantastic find with RUGERGUY he mistook my joyousness for gloating......

Dan I am sorry you took it that way as it never occurred to me that you would not be happy for me when I showed you that awesome box....

Your actions that day towards me were unbelievable and uncalled for....Dan if I knew what that one box would have done to our relationship all those years ago I would have gladly just thrown the box away....

I only put this in the open forum because I have had other collectors who were not even there relate this story to me....so I know the box incident still bothers you and I am sorry you feel the way you do.....I certainly never intended anything more than it was.....just me sharing a RUGER BOX with another GREAT RUGERGUY.....RR

How well I know and recall, as it was , if you would ask the guy who was sitting at my table, that the box in question was brought to show for me, and as I had not gotten a chance that early to get over to his table, to pick it up, he thought your were bringing it over to me....alas, then you had to go walking by the front of the table, and saying , to quote EXACTLY, "nah, nah , nah, ne nah nah, looky what I got" and it took Don to keep me from going over the table after you.....no this old timer, does not ,nor ever will forget..... :(
