Mark 2 test target

I did some quick research and found some came with test target in the 210 prefix range. Can anyone else add anything? Numbers produced?

yes, the early Gov.Comp MK IIs in the yellow one piece box, had the target inside , these were the ones that were laser sighted, 6 7/8 inch models........came with only ONE magazine

I'm glad you mentioned 1 mag. The NIB one I am looking at has only 1 mag and I thought it should have 2.

My plastic boxed MkII Govt Target (224-3XXXX) came with a test target which proves the gun is far more accurate than I am.

I'll second that, my plastic boxed Govt. model came with a target also, had two magazines with it that both look original. I'm not the original owner though.

I had a conversation with one of the techs back then and he said they did the same testing and evaluation process for all the government model pistols regardless if they were filling a contract or sold for civilian purposes. All they did was package these pistols differently based on which direction they were headed. By doing all the quality testing the same they avoided the wrong batch being accidentally sent out to fill the government contract and violating the terms of the agreement. The terms of the contract back then specified each pistol receive a laser bore sighting and these test targets be supplied with each pistol.

I purchased my 6-7/8" Gov't Target Model, NIC, in January 1995. It came in a grey plastic case (dated 9/04) with two mags and a factory test target. S/N: 219-951XX
