On other sites it was debated whether this was lawful self defense. Concealed carry at a weed dispensary?

Right or wrong I would guess that kid was seein stars and could argue he was acting out of fear. Judged by twelve or carried by six
Hard to claim self defense when you shoot someone in the back. Being shot in the back if you are associated with certain politicians qualifies as suicide aka Arkancide...

I googled, Pueblo dispensary shootings, kinda a lot, wow! They musta had some killer weed that makes yer trigger finger itch
Not from 20 yards when they are unarmed and clearly fleeing.
Orange jumpsuit or striped pajamas for 20+ years is what the shooter has to look forward to.
Bet this will also figure into the equation.

The big fat-arse bald bully fell way to easily and didn't experience nearly enough agony for his cowardly attack on a little guy.
We don't know what happened before the punch was thrown. Shooting someone in the back while running away is not such a good idea.
Who remembers this altercation where a black man knocks a white man on his a** and the white man shoots him dead. Justifiable, right? Not exactly.
The black man when into the store with his GF's son and the white man confronted the black man's GF who was driving the car. Apparently it escalated and the woman got out of her car right as the black man came out of the store. All he can see is a crazy white man going off on his GF and he knocks him down. The white guy shot and killed the black man.
It didn't stand the scrutiny of Stand Your Ground Laws. Nothing whatsoever would have happened if the white guy would minded his own business in the first place.

Opinion, this case like all others using deadly Force. Jury/judge will cover the basics. Again, those are at the moment the man was shot. Did he have the means to cause serious injury or death to the guy pulling the trigger. Not by the video.
Did the man who was shot have the opportunity at the moment he was shot to cause serious injury or death to the shooter. Not by the video.
Did the man who was shot have intent at the moment he was shot to cause serious injury or death to the shooter. Even if he was yelling "I going to Kill you" as he ran away. Could there have been any intent, No. Not when he was shot.
There may have been a justified use of force when he was punched, but not when he turned and fled.
As too if the shooter was allowed to have a gun at a dope store. I have no idea. My opinion based on other case law, if it was a justified case of SD. Then having a gun on a banned property might not be a valid charge and that only applies if the shooter was allowed to possess a firearm.
It sure does not look justified and if not, all other firearms laws could be open for prosecution.

Years ago, twenty five or so, a guy was driving past a public golf course and a ball bounced into the street and struck a young guys windshield breaking it, he stopped and confronted some golfers and demanded payment one old golfer in his late seventies told the much younger, athletic guy to go fish and received a punch to the face and died instantly. I also remember the woman that was at lunch with her parents at a Lubes restaurant in Texas and complied with the rules and left her permitted gun in her car because she was not allowed to have it at a place that served liquor, her parents and a large number of others were killed by a deranged gunman, she later said she could possibly have saved her parents and others if she had her gun.

If I think a place is dangerous and I might have a need to use my weapon... I don't go there. That is the first rule of concealed carry.

When I read the title of this thread I thought it as meant Dispatch, not dispensary.

I agree that if you truly expect a place to be dangerous, the best tactic is to just not go there. The reality is that every place is potentially dangerous. That is why I carry everywhere, even when just running out to the nearby supermarket for something my wife needs while cooking dinner.
