Magazine Failure

Shot a Ground Hog this am with a 10/22 Bicentennial Model from 1976. The gun shoots very well and has had 1000's of rounds thru it. 1 shot/1 kill...Went to the shed to clean it and had to disassemble the trigger group to get the magazine out. The end plate had separated from the body and the Mag was stuck in the rifle. I can't really complain though as this is a 40 yr. old mag and it's the first failure I've ever had with this rifle. Cudos to Ruger quality. Wish they were all this good and dependable.

I bet if you ship the mag back to Ruger,, they will replace it. Or heck, just email them a picture.

My mark111 wood grip had a small chip out of it but it was the part that held the pin in place. So I contacted Ruger and they sent me a new pair. But they all so sent me a return envelope for the broken set.

A 40-year-old magazine! WOW! I sure hope all mine will last that long. I wouldn't complain one bit.

Sent Ruger an email about the magazine and thanked them for making such a "bullet proof" product. Never asked them to replace the mag...This am I got an email from customer service with a case# attached. Asked for my ser# and mailing address. They are sending me a new mag! Now that's CUSTOMER SERVICE! This 10/22 has to have about 1 million rounds down range and for the first 10 yrs. or so of it's life this was the only mag I had, so yo can imagine how many times it was loaded and cycled.

Now if I could just get my bucks together for that American Predator in 223...

Hard to beat Ruger quality and their customer service. I have about 20 of the 10-rounders and a few hi-cap mags for my 10/22's. Only have had 1 that gave me issues years ago, and it just needed tightened up. You should be good for another 40 years now.

Oh yeah, I have 4 Americans and one is the Predator in 223....and it is super accurate. You won't regret getting one.

New Mag is on the way via USPS and Ruger didn't even ask for the old one back. Great Company!
