Is there any difference between the rear sight on a M77 MK2 and a Hawkeye rifle? Anybody have a complete rear sight for a M77 MK2? I need one for a 300 win mag that I just bought.

Thanks

Not sure if this will help but I had a 77/50 Black Powder and that particular sight is used on a number of different rifles. Anyway, the point I want to make is I was missing one of the tiny screws that holds the elevation adjustment plate in place on the rear sight. I contacted Ruger Customer Service and asked if I could purchase one of these tiny screws. They sent me an entire rear sight assembly - brand new - no charge! If nothing else they could certainly tell you what sight you need. Might be worth a try!

I called the parts department and they do not have any rear sights for a MK II and they would not tell me if a Hawkeye sight or any other sight would fit since each one has a different part number.

FYI. if you are not going to scope the gun try a NECGW peep sight it mounts to the Ruger scope mount and works great. I just put one on a #1s 45/70.

Interesting. So you need an Owner's Manual to reference a part number? I thought the manuals were online at the Ruger website. You could always call Jack First or Midwest Gun Works (MGW). Those guys have amazing parts inventories. I thought MGW had online schematics as well. Good luck!
