M77 MK II in 7x57 value?

I saw a M77 MKII for sale today in 7x57 caliber. It is 98% with a blued barrel and boat paddle all-weather stock. No sights. How common are these and what is their value? The owner's bottom dollar is $525. I'm seriously considering this one. as I already own the 7.62x39 and .35 Whelen in the same format.

I certainly wouldn't pay that much... $450 would be the max for me... its a desireable cartridge if you handload, if not the factory offerings are waning.

THe Zytel stocked M77s with blued actions and barrels were made in significantly fewer quantities than the Zytels with the stainless actions/barrels.

Of the blued rifles, 7x57 is very scarce.

If it 'trips yer trigger' it's worth the seller's price. But, since it's already a shooter, and unless he has the original box and papers, its value as a collector piece is diminished.

If you like it, and it's a great caliber, you'll probably be the only one in hunting camp with one.

Remember, you never pay too much, but you sometimes buy too early.

$450, no more than $500 with rings.
I bought mine used 4 years ago, blued 98% finish with rings in a Bell and Carlson grey/black spiderweb stock for $550.
