"Lowback" Security Six

My shooter grade lowback Security Six arrived today. It is also a fixed sight Security Six which made it intriguing to me. It is not as nice as the pics show. Has some spots of pitting here and there that have been cold blued. Figured it would make a good shooter or car/house gun.

it is in transit now.

Mine just like it is ANIB but no box and 'only' a .38spl. :shock:

Terry, this is my seventh.....no end in sight. They are more fun to "accumulate" than other Rugers.....less expensive! :D

one known correct? I've got a nice RDA-32 Low/Back
coming but no box :( .I like that SDA-32 also!!.

2)Regarding the SS-32 with the factory bobbed hammer-although I haven't checked for quite awhile, I believe that yes, this is likely, the only one of these known?

3)I'm glad to hear that you have that nice RDA-32 Low/Back coming soon!

4)The old frame Six Series revolvers are next to impossible to find, here in California.

Did Ruger records confirm the factory bobbed "speed Hammer"? The hammers were available as a Ruger part and could be slipped into most any six series gun. My experience is that Ruger records doesn't seem to always note the special hammer.

I'm not doubting yours is, I just want to know how to go about confining some that I have. Can you relate your experience?

it's been a few years since I had confirmed this SS-32 Speed Six with the spurless hammer-so, I'll need to search through my records to see if I can determine exactly what steps I'd taken? I'll get back to you once I've been able to find the time to do this.

I originally had purchased all of the above guns from the widow of an avid Ruger Gun collector who had died 40 years ago. He had ordered all of these from Ruger NIB and had put them in his safe-left untouched by anyone-until I'd purchased them a few years ago. The original white box-just as it had come out of the Ruger factory is shown below:
