Just curious, how much do low ser #s add to the value of old model flatops/ single sixes etc ? I'm talking low 2 3 digit, & low teen 4 digit #'s I've been out of the Ruger loop for awhile.
Thanks, Mark
Really depends on how bad someone wants that number. Is the number itself special to them? Do they have others with that number? Will getting that number give them consecutives?
Then of course, you factor in condition, package, which model it is, etc.
Guess I'm trying to say it just depends on the situation. That must be clear as mud.
2 or 3 digit to me would be a "Premium" as noted above how much to whom?? I know some models ,old ones the RENE has a listing for these anomolies....but I have found it hard to get some of these prices,,,,,the 4 digit, nothing special...just the model, condition, and what the number may mean to someone else in their scheme of things ( collecting) and what they NOW have in their collection.......
Prices per RENE, guns are 95% to 98%. Single-Six type 1 $1100, 3 digit $1725, 2 digit $3200.
357 Flattop Type #1 $1175, 3 digit $1675, 2 digit $3475
.44 Mag Flattop, Type #1 $1825, 3 digit $1950, 2 digit #4250
If you notice that the type 1 .44 Flattop and the 3 digit .44 Flattop are about the same price because there have been only a hand full to letter as a type 1 and they are rare in their own right.
Many times it is a buyer/seller market. I have a relatively low numbered three digit Bearcat that I paid $263.00 for. It is worth a bit more than that.
