I’ve used the 17 Mach 2 cylinder from Bochart (sp) they took a little stoning is all…. I believe I have a stainless fluted cylinder if you don’t go the Borchart route.

I was just looking at their cylinders yesterday. You reminded me to give them a call. It states they are for New Models, but I’ve also read that they are interchangeable with minor fitting. Funny thing- I’ve got 5 OM Single Sixes and 1 NM. And none of the cylinders are that “drop in fit” that you hear about.

I highly recommend Borchardt cylinders. It may take some minor fitting, but generally fit perfect.

I can’t tell you how many times I have put something away, and down the road can’t remember where I put it. So I buy another, and sure enough, when I go to put the new one away, that’s right where the one I already had is sitting.

I don’t know about you guys, but the easiest way for me to lose stuff it to straighten up or especially- reorganize. And putting something in a “safe place” usually means somewhere where I’ll never find it again.

The older I get, the worse off I am about setting stuff down. I can walk towards the bedroom with a screwdriver, stop at the refrigerator, pet the dog, and by the time I reach the bedroom the screwdriver is no longer in my hand.

What is just as bad is needing glasses for everyday life but not for close up. Hours lost looking for where I sat my glasses. What makes it so bad is that my vision is still good enough without the glasses that I don't realize I walked off without picking them up. Then it could be a while before I discover I forgot them somewhere. That's when the wife gets called back in!!!

Don’t know how but I lost both cylinders for my single six , can anyone tell me about borchardt replacement ones. Thanks
I have a magnum cylinder for my old model that I don't use. I bought it after I had the gun and the ser# don't match mine. If it works for you I would let it go reasonably.

Thanks for all everyones input, however my gun hobby was on hold since 1994!! pulled it out of the safe nice and shiny but missing the cylinders , did find the red bag though. Bought the gun brand new in the box ,still have the box and papers, serial number says 1973 but I was 14 y.o. then, I guess n.o.s. New plan ,buy another new model ,use both cylinders for my old gun, buy a borchardt cylinder for the new one since they are unfluted and I like the look and have its frame color case hardened ,get an RW brass grip frame and custom grips. Can’t have too many, right mirglip

Found this on Google, maybe you have also. http://rugercyl.com/ruger-cylinders/
While asking for a review of the Borchardt, I found reference to this forum from 2018 another member looking for the same info. But no specific info on Borchardt.
That's all I got.

I had a Single Six that needed the magnum cylinder. I ended up buying 5 cylinders until I found one that fit.

Bonus is that they are easy to sell if they don’t fit. Someone is always needing one.

How could they not fit???? An angle grinder will make anything fit.

@jckwgn welcome to the forum. Glad you came back to guns after your long break. I also had a long break, guns were in storage at my moms for about 15 years while I started a household of my own. All I had with me was a model 60.

It felt good to catch up with my old friends.
