Lost in the 50s

You know, it is almost sad when you remember the names of every one
of the people (except in some of the add's), can name the car model
and year, and had a whole lot of the toys.

Has something to do with being old, but I can't remember what. :D

Here is one of my favorites.

Yep...been there done that..all of it.

Recently had occasion to "renew" a very long ago acquaintance with a woman I went to high school with (we graduated in'55) and she went on to become Miss America in '58...I'd sent a note to compliment her on a book she had published. She was from a very wealthy family and has gone on to be a very important motivational speaker throughout her life. We spent about an hour e mailing back and forth and it seemed that even with the huge things we had both experienced in "adult life" a lot of the chat kept going back to things like fries and a malt at the "Chat and Chew"...Beer busts in the mountains, places in Denver that no longer exist, etc..

Always fun to just talk with someone that was really there when you were and not talk to someone that watched "happy days" and never really lived that life during the times.

Every generation will have their memories and their "times" and I'm so glad I lived during a time like the 50's...I was born in '37 so post depression, pre WW2, etc...I got to see many of the "inventions" that make the world what it is today...fun stuff. I worked for IBM before they made computers for business and general use (only a very few and huge scientific ones)...that's along time ago...

I was born in 1950 and remember those along with this one

Been there done that. We had a burger joint call Kewpee and still going today, started back in, I think 1927. One way in and the same way out with a turn table in the back to turn your car around. No backing out. No turn table today as there have been some buildings torn down.
