Yep! SP 101 .357 mag........my primary carry. I have big hands, size 22 ring, so I prefer it over the LCR, which I have one of those in +P .38. Coogs.

Two choices, the SP-101 or the LCR. For most concealable, the LCR wins and for shootability the SP wins.

Short barrel SP101. Mine is 38 only but it is what I carry 95% of the time.
Thanks Rob, I guess a 38 with hollw Points would do the trick

I have not felt at a disadvantage with it yet.

How's the recoil on it? Not that I can't handle some recoil, just wondering. I'm looking for something small enough to carry during the summer when I'm riding my Harley Thanks,
"Robert

Actually Coogs, with the amount of child support I pay, looking at the local gun shops, the LCR would better fit my price range. How's the recoil on it. Like I said in a later post I'm looking for something that's easy to cinceal during the summer when I'm riding my Harley.
Thanks,
Robert

Shoot, I found my 38 SP101 for under $350 OTD and the recoil is no problem. I did tweak it a bit though and it now wears CT grips.
Alan Harton worked over the hammer shape and fit S&W adjsutable sights to if for grins and giggles.

Wow Rob where did you find it for under 350.00. I can't find it here locally for under 400.00 quite a bit more actually. I actually haven't found the 38 yet, just the 357, cheapest I've found in that is 483 "on sale"
Yikes!!!!

I recommend the LCR! Perfect weight, handling characteristics and smooth trigger. "nough said!!!

My first Ruger was the LCR 38 sp. Bought a nice Stoner clip-on holster, got my CCW and was in hog heaven. Then I bought an SP101 3 inch 327 and then an SP101 DAO 357. Then an LC9. Just for carry, the LCR works best and you can use the same IWB Blackhawk holster for both LC9 and LCR. But none of the above can replace the look and feel of the SP101 357.

It also depends on your physical size, you dont want something that "prints" personally I carry my gp 100 3" and am very happy with it. The sp 101 is the baby sister to the gp.

Nice, Robb! Never seen a hammer shaped like that...looks like it wouldn't get snagged on clothing in mid-draw, yet still gives you something to pull on for single action.
