Looking at a KP95PR

It’s priced right but I’m wondering about support... I know this topic has been touched on in the past. Does anyone have any current experience with Ruger support? Are magazines reasonably available? Spring kits, etc?

My 84 year old dad is holding on tightly to his P89; he still enjoys shooting it. I have yet to get a P-series gun but this one is available for about two bills.
(Only one magazine and no case.)

In my limited experience with Ruger support, they have always been excellent. I'd go for it.

Yes, Ruger still provides parts and service for the P95. Magazines and springs are readily available in several places: Ruger, Ebay, Gunbroker, Wolff Gunsprings, etc. Additionally, complete parts kits are often available on GunBroker, and sometimes on Ebay.

If you want it and the price is okay by you then for sure buy it. I have just one of the 'newer' P95s like that and wish I had another. The textured grip is a lot better on these.

The Ruger P95 is one of the few polymer frame pistols that I own. If you are concerned about future maintenance, just purchase a parts kit. That is what I did a couple of years ago. There were several on gun broker at one time. I don’t know about now.

I have multiples of a few guns that I really like.

The Ruger P95 is one of the few polymer frame pistols that I own. If you are concerned about future maintenance, just purchase a parts kit. That is what I did a couple of years ago. There were several on gun broker at one time. I don’t know about now.

Also, I’ve read favorable posts regarding the trigger. I’ve got to say this one has a smooth double action trigger and a very decent trigger reset in single action.

I would definitely snatch it up for that price. The KP95PR is the last generation of the P95, and they are excellent pistols. I have two :mrgreen: Mags are easy to come by, especially those made by Mecgar. Ruger still offers factory mags from shopruger.com as well.

I wasn’t!... It’s a great shooting pistol. I took it to the range, yesterday after work. The P95 was joined by my G-34 and my Sig Sauer P229, in .40 S&W.

Not only did the Ruger hold its own against the Glock, it shot just as well, and tighter groups to boot! It’s easily worth twice what I paid for it... it’s a joy to shoot!

Now, on my next trip to Houston I’ll have to take it to the range with my dad. He can bring his stainless P89. I’m sure he’ll enjoy the new addition, too.

I’m not sure if the P95 is known for its trigger, but this one is exceptional.
I can’t wait to take it out again. Next time though, I’ll bring an Allen key to adjust the rear sight a smidge. I’m shooting consistently to the left.

I will add that it groups as well as my Glock 34.
