Just saw it this week. It was tough to watch, but I was disappointed how the producers changed some of the facts from the book. Like the scene when he is almost beheaded but the villagers stop it with guns - that never happened.
I agree it was tough to watch but it was really good. I've watched it a couple of times. Seems like when ever I watch it there is pollen in the air. Book is good also!!!
Now that you have seen the movie or read the book which I have done both. YOU need to read his book "Service A Navy Seal At War". It is about when he goes back to SEAL Team 5 and the missions in Ramadi in Anbar Province. A lot of bad stuff took place there for sure. Now IS has taken the place .
He also goes into more detail in this book of his rescue than in "Lone Survivor" A hell of a lot more scary stuff took place than in the movie. The rescue was at night with a lot of heroic actions taking place by the rescuers.
It also goes into some detail about how bad some of his buddies get beat up including his SEAL Brother and how much pain he is in.
Like I said a must read.
