I decided to load up the 25 1 1/8oz Dangerous game slugs for about 1,600 fps. I decided to do 5 each 1 1/4oz HP loaded for 1,400fps and 1oz hydrashocks for 1,600fps. Been a few decades since I've done shells! I have a roll crimper I just need to set up the mini drill press on the box if these fly good I might not bother.

Ballistic Products has some really neat offerings. I'm pretty sure Taufledermaus uses their stuff heavily. Their 1 1/8 oz Dangerous game slugs look particularly nasty. I got boxes of 100 1oz hydroshocks and 1 1/4oz hollow points. Hopefully I'll get to wring them out tomorrow over the Chrono into some water jugs and logs to see how they do. With slug prices $1-5 each I can save a lot of money and get actual high performance loads. Ever since Lightfield gave up on their 3 1/2" Commanders I figured I would have to load anything substantial myself. I should be able to easily throw together some 4-5,000ft lb shells in 3 1/2". I don't care who you are that's some thump!!!

Nice!

Slugs for a shotgun are something I've never handloaded. I haven't had the need,,,,!
It's actually really easy. Size/deprime, prime, charge and 3 stage or roll crimp. Sluggers and Super X are over $1 each. Premium Performance slugs can be $5 and more each. When it comes to pure muzzle energy and impact on target you would need a 50bmg or African Express Rifle. I know that hurling 4-5,000ft lbs of muzzle energy isn't for everyone but I enjoy making 5 gallon buckets explode like a soda can. They make a 1 3/8oz Dangerous Game Slug for 3 1/2" shells that at 1,800 fps can almost blow a 55gal drum!!!

I primarily shoot slugs. Between deer and HD nothing short of a 50bmg hits like a 4,800ft lb slug. They are really hard on the steel targets. They break welds and bend frames. It's nice knowing that unless you are wearing an MRAP ain't nothing gonna save you.

My wish is to find someone who offers some 2 ounce hard cast ( Bereneke style) 10 gauge slugs. The only game in town is the Foster style 1 3/4 ounce slug and I would like something with more whomp.

Yes, I buy cases and wads from them. They do offer a 1 1/2 oz foster slug. I want to go heavier and solid.
There are several custom mold makers along with Ballistic Machinist and a few others. 30 years ago I bought some 1,000gr 700ne bullets. You will want a custom barrel hurling things that heavy like a 1:24"-1:30" unless you want them to tumble.
