Some of y'all live out in the high country where you can see the sun come up over the mountain range. You step out in the front porch with a fresh cup of steaming coffee your wife has just brewed. You smell the smell of pines, hay, horses and cows. You saddle a horse and ride, work hard all day and rest loose at night. Or you may just hike up a mountain trail. And there are those of you whose homes face out over the Atantic and you see a sunrise up seemingly out of the ocean and smell a sea breeze. And ther are those of you who walk out to your plane, start it up and cruise around the sky, seemingly, unfettered by earth's gravity. You lead charmed lives that many envy.

I'm proud for you, but I wouldn't trade places with any one of you!

Southwestern Montana, Ruby Mountains
Always preferred the sunsets here!

It's not like I haven't seen such places. We crossed over Beartooth Pass out of Red Lodge, stood on the rim of Grand Canyon, stood on the marker at Four Corners, crossed the Rio Grande at Boqillas (?) admired the sunrise at Corpus Christi, and walked the beach at Cape May. But, home is home. And the smell of hickory smoked Memphis BBQ! No one need to feel sorry for me.

Thanks to a Father in the Navy and frequent transfers, I've see a load of this country from Washington State to San Diego with a stop over in Oahu and Ford Island, Chicago, Millington Tenn, Pensacola FL, Millington, TN, Bloomingdale PA, Jacksonville, Fl, and a year in Morroco; OOPS did I forget Portland, Or; Bartlesville and Oklahoma City. Plus traveling back and forth through many states, like New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Kansas, Idaho, Illinois, Minnesota, Kentucky and probably some I left out and up and down the East Coast. Hey I didnt forget you in N. Carolina Contender !! 😉 :D :D

Interestingly, both my parents were navy brats. Dad went places. East coast, west coast, Hawaii, Philippines, Panama. Mom was just the coasts. But we moved only once growing up. And then only a few miles.

We did travel but only for entertainment.
