Surely I can’t be the only one here who likes a nice thick slab of liver cheese on whole wheat! Am I?

Somehow and some way during the pandemic local stores quit carrying this. They later told me they can’t get it, don’t know where to get it and none of their suppliers even offer it now.

Well, if YOU have been craving liver cheese too, I have found it! I plan on sharing this info with the 2 local shops tomorrow.

Kentuckian Gold
Owensboro, KY.

They showed up, but it looked like neither one is available. So I deleted them. I'll swing by Walmart tomorrow and see if they have it. It sounds pretty good.

“I don’t eat used oil filters.” 🤠

I grew up in a house where you ate what was put in front of you. Period.

I’m thankful for that- we always had something to eat. The list of things that I don’t care for is very short… but liver anything is at the top of it!

I did have some fried chicken livers that Grandma Aida made in about 1980, that weren’t too bad- I didn’t even gag! 😎

Same as many here, if I wanted to leave the table, I had to clean my plate regardless of how awful it was.

Now I'm in my late 40s and I will be damned if I eat anything I don't like

When I say I don't like something, it means I have actually tried it at least once.

LIVER is awful and I will not eat it.

Dan I’ve never had liverwurst. To me braunschweiger is similar to liver cheese but not the same. Not what I remember from my childhood.

Liverwurst and Liver Cheese have disappeared around here. Haven't seen either
one in years. Back when you could find either one (they are not the same) I
liked it on rye with Miracle Whip, tomato, lettuce and dill pickle. Add a Coors
beer and some Fritos and a good Baseball game and my afternoon was golden.

I've actually tried it before. In Bulgaria I bought some "Liber-Kasen" It was pretty darn good until I put two and two together and figured out what I was eating. But of course by then after much brandy, it didn't really matter. The good ol' days.

Then there was the night we ate blood sausage. I didn't know what that was either, and nobody else spoke English. But that's a whole different story.

I like everything listed in this thread so far. Except Miracle Whip! It’s nasty 🤮 lol

To each his own. I know some people love it. Miracle Whip may be the only food I’ve ever tried I refuse to eat again.

I have not had liver cheese or a good pan pudding sandwich for a while now myself.
Uncle Howie made me hungry when he mentioned fried chicken livers. I like mine in brown gravy on pop eye (white) noodles, with homemade bread or biscuits. :)

My Dog DUKE likes fried Chicken Livers; a little flour and it makes a "gravy for them. He also eats fried chicken GIZZARDS.
I have to say I do like a taste of them both now and then !

Back when I was single I liked to get some liver cheese for sandwiches from time to time. I don't get anything liver at home now because my wife hates it.
I did get to eat some fried chicken livers a while back. My wife & one daughter were out of town. Took the younger girl & her little brother to Golden Corral. They weren't as good as Mama or Grandma used to make but they were okay.
Never cared much for chicken gizzards. There is just something about the texture that seems wrong.
I can't say no food freaks me out but I was the kid that would sit & read the ingredients label on the potted meat can to my sister after my dad made us both potted meat sandwiches. I got to eat both sandwiches that way.

Edited to add: I don't hate Miracle Whip but I would much rather have Duke's or Blue Plate.

Fix DUKE a pot of chicken giblets (liver, heart & gizzards) in chicken or beef stock and yellow egg noodles on top of mashed potato's, again with home made bread, you will like it too. ;)
