Lipsey 44spl flat top Bisley

I have been searching for this distributor model in the 4 5/8 barrel length and have not been able to locate any. Does anyone know of a shop that may have them for sale anywhere?
Has anyboby picked one of these up, and if so, what do you think of it?
This is the one I am looking for but may consider the 5.5" bbl also.

I've had one for a while. It has the best out of the box trigger of any of the NM Rugers I've bought. Shoots just fine too.

I've got a pair of 5 1/2" .44 SPL flattops; one Bisley and one standard. Not much difference in the trigger pull between them - I find the trigger action on both to be decent - but the Bisley's hammer seems to be just a little stiffer when cocking (longer mainspring?).

ProfessorWes, Given that they use the same spring, the Bisley hammer will take more effort to cock due to it being shorter. Less leverage, don`t you know.

Kentucky is out of stock, Gunbroker is sold, Jim's Firearms is the only one left and more than I had set aside so although one is available, I will pass for a better deal. Plus they have a different MDL# listed and haven't confirmed this is the same as I am looking for.
Kentucky has my name on their list and at the ~$500 incl shipping is a good deal.
I guess I will keep looking.

I have four that will shoot 44spl so that will keep me busy for a bit. Just none of them are Bisleys----

Jimbo -- I have one of the non-Lipsey 5.5" models that I bought new about a year ago. Be aware that these models are prone to having bad loading gate springs and thread choke at the frame to barrel fit. Unfortunately, mine had both. I have since fixed both by having the spring re-fit and fire lapping the bore. I like the pistol now, but, I'll admit, it was a frustrating string of disappointments for a while.

Sorry you had those problems dwayne. I wonder if yours was the exception or if they are indeed prone to these problems? Has it been documented the gate spring and thread choke to be widespread?
I have one of the stainless 44 specials that came out and have had no problems with it so far.
Is it just with the special run of Lipseys?

My Bisley was sent back to Ruger to correct a bad base-pin spring and to reset the barrel so the front sight was pointing TDC, top dead center, or at 12:00 straight up. They also re-blued the frame, even though I told them I didn't need them to do it, because there was a spot on the front where the bluing didn't take the first time around.

It was made on my birthday so I stuck with it. It shoots well now. Ruger paid for shipping both ways, too.

I bought my 5.5" Bisley FT 44Spl from an online dealer, so was unable to inspect it. When it arrived I was not happy with the finish (see pic). I called Ruger and they issued an RMA and arranged UPS to pick it up. A few weeks later it came back after being re-blued. I have nno complaints with how it shoots.

I have been looking for one for a while. My LGS says he has it on order. But who knows if it will ever show up.

My LGS has a problem with getting anything from Lipseys. Says they are rude and unless you do a ton of business with them they don't want to waste their time with you. He deals mainly with military and collectables, with limited new gun sales, and usually doesn't carry a large selection of new merchandise. He orders whatever a customer wants. So that's why I have to search the www to find limited exclusives if I want something like that.

I have a pair of the 4 5/8" guns. The laminated grips on one was split right out of the box but Ruger took care of that issue. No other problems and they shoot amazingly well.
