I’m looking for help finding clipart / line art to engrave a stone. I am thinking of putting a 1911 & M1 rifle on the stone. After spending a couple of hours looking at all sorts of “images”, I have found little that I think will be right on a stone.

Any thoughts?

Ask local art supply stores, local artists, maybe a mortuary or other place that makes grave stones. Not saying they'll do it for you but may be a great resource to find what you're looking for.

What size of stone? And what type? Granite? or Sandstone?

You could always use a program like Photoshop to create a line art drawing of one of your own photos or guns. That would make it more personal than a generic picture.

Yep, I'm always thinking.

I also am interested in your motivation for this engraving, so let me share a bit of mine.

FUDD's may not understand something so whimsical, but painting rocks has become quite the rage for some folks, including me. We paint rocks, and just drop them around the neighborhood. Many others do the same, pick up a painted rock, and leave another. It's just simple fun. Grandkids and young neighbors love it.

Oh, if I could engrave or paint a gun or 2A theme on a rock, that would be great.

Yes this is for a tombstone. This will be on the back of the stone.

I get half, the wife gets her line art on the other half. The Monuments store has some generic art but not of the firearms that I would like to represent me. I have both the 1911 and M1 and have shot both in competition. Thus for something that is going to be around for a looong time I would like to do it my way.

Probably life size for the 1911 and the M1 scaled to about the same size.
