What can be done to lighten the receiver/forend hanger on a No 1?

For anyone who has had a "lightweight" No 1 built (composite stock and fluted or CF barrel) what did you get your weight down to?

I had one built by Extreme Rifleworks that is right at 5lbs. Just under 6 with a Leupold 2.5-8 on top.

Rick took a lot of weight out of the receiver, put an MCI stock on it and a host of other things to shave weight. He slimmed down the quarter rib and put a very slim contoured barrel on it.

It's in 300 Win Mag and is an absolute laser, but pretty brutal to shoot.

That sounds like what I had in mind. Any chance you've got pictures?

I bet in 300 Win mag it's a beast, but that same gun in a moderate cartridge could be the ticket for me.

Ya, it is a bit ridiculous in the recoil department...

It probably would have been a lot better in an '06 or 270.
