Leupold scope mounting issues?

I have just purchased a Ruger 77 Hawkeye II, in 25-06 Rem. Lovely gun second hand from an awesome dealer here in the UK.
I need to know if anyone can help what size scope rings to get to mount my Leupold VX3 4.5-14 x 50 scope. Issues I have is the 50 mm objective vs the heavy weight barrel and clearance. It is a short scope and the objective end reaches out over the thickest section of the barrel.
Do I need the high or extra heigh?

I'd say you are going to need the extra high rings.

You'll need the High rings, 5BHM and 6BHM for 1" tubes and 5B30/6B30 for 30 mm tubes.
