I would like to hear about first hand experience with Leupold scope rings for Rugers. I would like to know from those that have actually used them, whether they fit the Ruger bases well, if they stay tight to the base and are durable. I noticed that the lows are a bit lower than Rugers low rings and they look a bit lighter. Also they are nice looking. Thanks, RJ

I had a set of Leupold low rings on an All Weather HM77 .308 with a Leupold FX II 6X36. The bolt clearance on the ocular bell was close but manageable and 36MM objective may be about as large as you can go with the Leupold low, depending on how far forward you can place your scope and still be comfortable without stretching your neck.

I think they are lighter. They stayed tight for me, and did the job.

That said, I recently bought another Leupold low set to put on a HM77UL. They would not work. I think the front integral mount on this particular 77 was machined slightly narrow. Both Leupold rings would work/tighten up on the rear mount, but neither would tighten up or down enough on the front. Ruger Rings worked just fine.
