I've owned my SR9 since this winter and yesterday, Sunday, I finally found range time between work, the KID and more work. All I can say is 200 rounds of Winchester WinClean ammo found the mark without incident. The gun is virtually tuned in at 30-40 feet. A slight tendency to hit a bit left at 50 feet. All I can say is that I am impressed with the grouping. Excellent gun. I wonder if I'm just lucky the sights are virtually zeroed in or is this typical?

Mine seemed set up right from the factory as well.

My SR40 was pretty close. Still a bit left which I'll work on next range session (determine if its me or the gun). I was hitting high on everything, so a slight adjustment on the rear sight and all was well in that department.

I've been shooting mine for about 9 months and have run probably 1,000 rounds through it. I've been shooting a little high and left. I was about to adjust my sights, but I'm holding off as I read some shooting tips and I'm wondering if it's me. I'm looking forward to taking this information to the range and adjusting my shooting. I'm a self taught shooter and I'm sure I can improve. I might even consider paying for some instruction.

I changed my stance, grip, and even the way I sight. So, my lack of accuracy was me, not my gun. And, oh by the way I completed my conceal carry class today

Nice to hear, this is a lot like my first experience with the gun, and I have a Version 1.1 with the round magazine release. IMHO it's hard to find a better 9mm fullsize pistol with all the safety features (which I assume you want) as an SR9 that shoots this well -- particularly at the price point.
My sights were almost perfect also right out of the box. I drifted my front sight a little to correct shooting a bit to the left, too. Probably more my eyes than anything.
I'm very confident in the gun+me at this point and for the reasons I bought it I'm a very satisfied customer.
The most important things with any pistol (or rifle for that matter) in terms of safety, handling and accuracy are practice and patience, and good technique. My next (and probably only) modification to the gun is going to be a Ghost Rocket drop-in trigger modification. I'm glad to see another Ruger SR-series owner here in the Great Northeast. I occasionally carry mine (I have another carry gun that I use more often, but sometimes I alternate) loaded and chambered, safety on, and I am very confident in doing that. I've slept with it under my pillow in that condition also on a couple of occasions (for good reasons). I know I'm well-armed and safely armed. And the darn thing just fits my hand so well I smile a little every time I pick it up.
