I went to a gun shop near where I live that I haven't been to before, just to check out their stock and prices. Up on a wall they had a lefty Scout that someone in Nevada had ordered from them but never picked it up. I am left handed and I have yet to buy a bolt action rifle, but I don't have any qualms about shooting a 'regular' bolt rifle. IMHO, the rifle is going to be either on a rest or not rapid fired where quick reloading action is needed. Or I could do what this guy does, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyZztvmoyl4.
Anyway, they are asking 699.00, which I would assume is close to cost. The only caveat is that I am also looking at the Ruger American, which is around 340.00 at the local gun superstore I usually go to.
Is there that much of a difference between the Scout and the Amercian (outside of the left handed option) to justify the extra 359.00?
Also, do I try and get them down even more for the Scout since it will probably sit on their wall for a while?
