Hi,
On the Ruger LCR the sights are pinned. Does that mean that you can punch it out and replace the sights? I ask because I see where Ruger is coming out with an LCR that will have XS sights. If the sights can be removed then I was thinking of getting an LCR now and wait and save my pennies for an XS sight.

Thanks,
Chuck McAllister

I put Hiviz red on mine

Easy to push pin out. Use a 1/16" roll pin punch. Small tap and it comes out. Ruger said it uses an adhesive to hold it in. I put a tiny dab of Loctite on mine when I put a HiViz on. Pin Hasn't shifted. Big difference in speed of acquiring sight picture. Have since added Crimson Trace grips and may try XS tritium next. Old eyes need all the advantages they can get.

The sight is easy to remove just use the right tool. I switched my sight out with the XS sight. No troubles removing the factory sight. The setup is a little different than most front sights. The sight goes over a post opposed to fitting into a notch. The XS sight does not come with a hole for the roll pin. They suggest gluing the sight on. Which I did using glass bedding epoxy. So it is a permanent mount. Of course a little heat would break the bond but probable ruin the sight. I had to do a little filing on the post to get the sight to fit flush. If you were inclined to make the sight easily removable there is plenty of metal on the XS sight to drill for the cross pin.
