LCR sight regulation?

My new LCR always shoots to the right a few inches. Now I feel like I'm pretty fair with a snubnose and my groupings have been good to excellent. I've even shot sub 2.5" groups standing at 20 yards. But always to the right of my POA. I assumed it was something that I was doing. HOWEVER, while I was cleaning it tonight, I realized the front sight is left of center. There is a flat spot on the top of the barrel that the front sight sits on. The flat spot measures about 0.045" on the right of the front sight and 0.020" on the left. It doesn't sound like much, but it is very obvioius when you look. I know I'm being picky, but... I'd really like it to hit where I aim. Is there anything I can do on this revolver to fix this myself? If not, do you think Ruger would help me? Or would they just tell me that it's "in spec"? BTW, it also shoots low (I can fix that myself with a file). What do you think? Thanks!

I just got mine back from Ruger, here is the thread. I think Ruger may carry different offset front sights, they do have different heights. Might give them a call. 2" off at 20 yards is not too bad..

Your story is very encouraging. Thanks for the help! At 20 its more like 3-4" right. Still not that bad, I know. But it still bugs me.

Make sure it's not you before you go to the hassle of sending it back. Dry fire against a white background and really stare at the front sight to make sure it's not twitching to the right when your shot breaks. BTW, the XS sight on my 38 LCR appears to be centered but the square front sight on my LCR22 is to the left as well.

Maybe I should point out that my LCR has the issue of (dry) firing with the cylinder open. I could send it back to fix this and have them check the POA.
