I have a new Ruger LCR 38+P. When I close the cylinder, it spins past two or three notches before locking up on the bolt. It doesn't do it every time. Sometimes it locks on the first notch as soon as I close it but more often it spins past several notches before locking up. This doesn't seem to affect it during dry firing or actual shooting. Once it locks up it stays locked. I have never had a revolver that did this. Is there something wrong or is this a quirk of the LCR?
