LC9?

My LC9 is back at Ruger at the factory for repeated lite strikes going on two weeks now. I hope the problem is corrected when I get it back, I want to CC it but won't till it works 100%. If it fails agin its history!!

I just picked up a new LC9 and have 49 rounds through it. Yes, 49! I was on the range with it today for the first time firing Winchester whitbox and had one round that would not fire. Primer seemed to be struck upon inspection and I suspected the round and not the gun. Should I expect to see more non fires from the LC9? I like the gun and planned on making this my everyday carry as my other guns are full size and a bit too large to conceal.

I would suggest firing a couple hundred more rds thru the LC9, I fired 3 different kinds of factory ammo and my reloads, and had lite strikes with all, which fired in my Glock 26. Some LC9's are fine and have no problems.

Out to the shooting range Sunday afternoon & with the help of a few novice shooters, we put another 50 rounds through my LC9. With 1150 rounds fired through it without cleaning, it's still going strong with no problems. I my stop unofficial reliability test & clean it. It's time to start carrying it (CCW).

I am interested to know how well it cleans up. I clean mine very throughly after every session ~50-150 rounds. I notice that the area under the LCI needs some extra attention. I probably have ~7-800 rounds so far and it looks as new other than some wearing of the blue on the barrell from the slide.

I cleaned my LC9 Friday night & suprisingly it wasn't all that dirty. The area above the barrel in the slide needed the most attention. The slide rails were relatively clean, along with the bore. The breach face & extracter needed attention. I'm seeing the same wearing of the blue on the barrel from the slide as antman6957 noted. Overall, it looked pretty good.

What is the LCI area?

I got my LC9 back yesterday from the factory for lite strikes,they replaced the firing pin and spring and fired 42 rds thru it. To day at the range I fired 98 rds thru it with no problems,so far so good. More testing with diifferent types of ammo before I carry.

Mine has had FTE's on 3 different ammo types. Sending to Ruger this week...

After my first post in this thread I have placed an additional 250 rounds through my LC9. I am up to 300 rounds now. I saw about 6 - 10 failure to extract in the first 200 rounds and was concerned. That was all with Winchester Whitebox 115 grn. Today I switched to Remington 115 grn and had 100% success. Planning on continuing with the Remington to see what happens. Love the gun and really want to be able to trust it.
