I had some trouble with the take down door/window as i have read of others that have had similar problems in this area. Now after a range trip while on vacation the slide lock has no spring tension on it, and when fired willl lock the slide open. At first i thought my thumb might be contacting the slide stop which was not the case. After looking at another LC9 i believe i need to give Ruger a call. Thoughts or comments much appreciated. I had a similar problem and took mine apart to find the spring guide which is made of plastic end broke off causing the spring return to be sloppy causing the slide to malfunction. I cleaned out the broken parts and from there I called Ruger and got super survice and a new part in 3 working days and it is working perfectly. I asked in an E mail why this part isn't made of metal and am waiting for a reply.

Heck I know the answer to that.......................

Weight, they are trying to keep the pistol as light as possible.
