A while back I posted about holsters being made in China. I still think it's wrong that China will produce something that isn't legal in China. I'm sure a plastic gun holster is legal in China, but I'm not sure about guns themselves. So why be able to make accessories for them?

But I digress.

I did find a holster on Amazon, made in the USA. It was $47. At the same time, I had a holster being made from Vedder Holsters. I've got a couple other holsters from Vedder, and they are really good quality. But I thought I'd try the one from Amazon. I'm left handed, and the holster I ordered from Vedder is right handed. It was $67 after a coupon.

It just came in the mail this afternoon, so I haven't had a chance to try it out at all.

Anyway, You can see the difference in quality in the pictures. The Vedder Holster is Red, the Amazon holster is Black. It's from a company called "Concealment Express."

Here you can see the holster from Amazon goes right to the barrel and stops.

The Vedder Holster is more rounded off and protective of the barrel.

The Amazon holster has more squared off corners and the paddle for OWB is a little on the thin and flimsy side.

The Vedder Holster is more rounded and the paddle for OWB is more sturdy and slightly padded for comfort.

Overall, with the Glock 44 (.22 lr) I am shocked, just shocked at how lightweight the entire gun and holster is.

Actually, it was less than a week after the mall shooting in Indiana, I ordered a Glock 19 (not pictured) It fits in the same holster as the Glock 44. I actually don't mind the Kydex holsters, The quality seems very reasonable for the price, and they seem sturdy and hold up well.

Anyway, this simple review of the two holsters. I can say I enjoy the Glock 44 and while it's only been to the rage 3 or 4 times, probably 500 rounds total, I have had ZERO failures with it. Nothing, No FTE, No FTF, nothing. Color me impressed.

I haven't used Vedder. I had looked at their Light Tuck. I need to pick up a IWB holster for my little Kahr CM9 but it seems like I never quite get around to it.
I have one of Concealment Expresses IWB holsters. It is fine for what it is. If you look at the Concealment Express web site it states that their holsters are U.S. made. Obviously you like the Vedder better. That is fine but the other option isn't made in China. I don't believe it is junk.

I did say the brand Concealment Express was made in the USA, that was my goal to find something NOT made in China. I don’t think it’s junk either. But I also don’t think it’s up to the quality of other holsters out there.

I’ve heard the holsters “We The People” are supposedly good quality. They aren’t very expensive, I might order one and see.

I have a "We The People" holster. I used it before I ordered the "Concealment Express". The belt clip didn't seem to hold as well as the clip on the "Concealment Express" holster. Of course I am using the IWB if you are ordering a paddle that may be a non issue. The only paddle holsters I have are Safariland GLS.

There is another brand I have seen mentioned on the forum boards but I do not have personal experience with. You might want to investigate. It is RMHolsters. I'm not saying to go buy one but I don't recall seeing anything negative. You might want to do a search on them & see if they would be anything you would be interested in.
