Picked up one of 25 Ruger 10/22's on a Black Friday deal for $99!!! I went down at 5:30 am expecting to see a line around the block....... but I was #19. Got a smoking deal. I've never seen them this low. They had the Anniversary Special for $179. Didn't go for that although I think it would be a good one to buy and never open. Sell it years down the road.

I also DROS'd a 1980 10/22 with the metal receiver etc. In 10 days I will have my first ever 10/22 rifles. Grabbed 2 bricks of Federal AutoMatch as well.....650 rounds. This will be good so I don't burn up my Center-X , Eley and SK Standard Plus that I prefer to save for matches or just serious target work.

Pretty happy I pulled it off getting up early after all that food I ate yesterday.

"In 10 days I will have my first ever 10/22 rifles."

And apparently thrilled about that situation. What has this country become?
On the other hand, I would have got up early and stood in line for a while to buy a $100 10-22(had that been an option).

Congrats! That is a steal at todays pricing! What did you have to give for the vintage rifle? Where you at in CA?

I thought they outlawed guns, apple pie, and Chevy's back in the 1980's over in CA.

I don't really get what you mean Mobuck? If you are referring to the 10 day wait...... no I don't find that thrilling, but it's not like we have a current option. It is what it is. I'd rather have a gun in 10 days than no gun at all.

Is that what you meant?

Los Angeles area. I paid $200 for the 1980 model.

Hows 22 lr ammo availability down there?
Not as awful as it was but still not good. A while back I bought a brick (if you can call it that) of Lapua Center X and SK Pistol plus from a range and I still have some of that....also some various flavors of Eley. But I checked a few weeks ago and they did not have any.

I found some SK Standard Plus at another range, one we filmed at but foolishly only got 10 boxes, thinking I was going back for a derig but I got sent to prerig another location and another crew went down there.

At the Black Friday sale I got 2 bricks (325 round each) of Federal Automatch....limit 2 per customer. They had a ton of it in stock. Don't know how that ammo is as I have never used it. That pile of Federal AM ammo went down pretty fast in the time I was there......about 2-1/2 hrs. I thought about going out and coming back to try sneak a couple more.....plus the guys know me well and may have allowed me...dunno. But I don't know how it's going to shoot in my guns....so 650 rounds seemed enough. The bricks were $20 each.

I also have a few boxes of CCI Stingers.

I'm personally good for .22 ammo at the moment....way better than I have ever been in the past. But I still hear people grumbling they cannot find it locally. I have to jump on any local supply I find fast because in LA city I cannot have ammo shipped to my house......so I cannot buy online when the deals and availability comes up for everyone else. That sucks!!!!

I knew they had a 20% of guns sale, but the 10/22s I saw a week earlier had regular prices that wouldn't get down to 99 with 20% off, more like 175. Reg was probably 235 or something like that. Gosh 99 bucks. I'd have bought one for sure.

I go get it out of jail tomorra! Along with a 1980 10/22 and a new Bushmaster AR-10. Plus…... my AR-15 varmint upper comes back from the manufacturer with a new match barrel, via UPS. Big daggone firestick day!!

Congrats! I remember back when I lived in CA, those 10 days seemed to drag on forever! Felt like it was never gonna come. Enjoy your new guns!
