Kia uncommanded braking

Not to mention the cost added to each vehicle due to unnecessary, unwanted, and often dangerous "features".

Our later Subaru has the same auto brake BS but it can be disabled which is good. Unfortunately disabling it generates a bright amber warning light that sucks.

A short piece of duct tape over that light might solve that problem. ;)

My '85 F-150's high-beam indicator light was really bright/distracting, so I put such a piece of tape over it with a tiny hole poked in it. Worked fine.

People with dyslexia AND attention deficit disorder, and anxiety are especially in danger when driving a vehicle with all these safety features (and there are MANY on the road EVERY day). "Normal" people with bike racks usually can't even back-up.... so, they are in danger too.
I'm guessing that if you paint or otherwise block the sensors, you probably will have to WALK wherever you need to go... !!

Funny, my 09 Silverado has an annoying self dimming rear view mirror that went to near black when a car in back of me had bright lights on. The bad thing was with the mirror black I couldn't see anything else. I put a dab of black nail polish on the light sensor so the fool thing always thinks I'm on a dark country road... I wish :-)

Different strokes for different folks.
I'd drive 100 miles to go around places like KCMO/STL,MO/Des Moines/Denver. I'll do my own driving and if I get so poorly that I can't, I'll just stay home.
I 'went to town' last week for the first time since June 3 and only then because I had to search the auto parts stores for a specific part.

I was there last week for my hunting pard’s funeral. I agree 100% on the traffic there. I was never so happy as to when I got back to Kentucky where no one uses their turn signals. I got to quit complaining about those people. At least I don’t have them and 50,000 cars bumper to bumper.. whew!
Living in very rural Western New York State since 1980. My 8 mile drive to work took 12 minutes from my driveway to the parking lot at work. Many days I never saw another moving car till the last half mile. It ain't all New York City!

I've only had the brakes on my Tacoma so something like that once. On cruise, in the car pool lane at about 75. A car crossed two lanes, entered my lane across the double solid yellow lines, very close in front of me. He then immediately slammed on his brakes with no one in front of them.

This is an almost classic way to cause an accident so you can sue. My Tacoma still had paper plates. Before I could react the truck braked and prevented the accident. When it was apparent the attempt failed the driver sped off.

My camera caught the entire thing including a great image of the plates. But this is California and the CHP wasn't interested.
When they make a car that deploys a gau 8 from the trunk and blast that idiot out of my way, I'll buy it....
🤷😹😹😹😛
